The BAMA website is a perpetual work in progress. As we learn about new resources and get updated information, we will add it to this site.

Neighbor to neighbor.

The BAMA mission is to empower neighbors to self-organize and to facilitate more connectedness within neighborhoods and throughout the larger Brattleboro community. Through system thinking, mapping, information sharing and communications, BAMA provides the supportive structures for neighborhoods to grow their own inclusive culture and cooperation.

Want to help keep BAMA rolling? Consider joining the “hub” of this all-volunteer network. Click on “Learn More” to email us for more details. Anticipated needs include:

Community Liaison(s): Individuals from specific community organizations or groups share information between those entities and BAMA to help facilitate connecting people who need support/resources with those who can provide assistance.

Request Coordinator: Monitors incoming requests for support, matching them to other BAMA volunteers or external resources (if applicable), and follows up to make sure needs are met. Often the first point of contact for a request for support, may need to triage requests.

Neighborhood Champion(s): Supports neighborhood community development through coaching neighborhood point people/captains, sharing resources and ideas, helping to problem-solve any sticky situations, and general helping to build relationships.

Website Maven: Keeps website up-to-date, creates engaging content that is consistent with BAMA values and way of engaging with the community.

Communications Lead: Manages external communications (i.e., email messages, social media, flyers, etc.). Distinct from the website role — more focused on active outreach.
